During a blue moon Koen De Decker is studying the objects around him in his living room. His eye is drawn towards a round mirror, a red bathing cap and a mask. He links up his camera to the TV-set and films himself with the mask and cap in the mirror. He comes way to close to the microphone and asks: 'Aaallooo.' He experiments with sounds and moves the mirror around with the TV-set in the background. He ends up in a surreal world behind the mirror. The acceleration of his movements are supported by some kind of screaming of somebody who is looking for an answer from behind the glass of the tv, till the moment he takes of his mask.
2-'Actions of an eye' 2000 video / 00:05:00 / non spoken:sound / Music: sonic youth sonic death.
For 'actions of an eye' Koen De Decker Films his own eye. The take of the eye reflects in the eye of the artist from the television that is connected in a live transmission with the camera. The tv is the only light source in the room, the live transmission creates a feedback of light. The endless reflection between the eye and the tv suddenly stops when the artist disides to stop filming at the moment the music stops.
3-'Once you hit the ground you will be hunted' 2001 video / 00:05:00 / non spoken:sound
This video portret shows a face in a constantly changing light, unsharply registrated, it looks like it is the face itself that changes constantly into an serie of different characters. The viewer should put his tv in high contrast almost black and white and put a lot of bass on the sound to create the perfect atmophere! Again the end is very banal when the artist switches of the camera when the phone rings.
